Wiseman heads local All-State girls basketball picks

The 2023-24 girls basketball season might go down as one of the most notable in Johnson County history, with plenty of winning and even more star power.

On Thursday afternoon, the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association proved that point by naming six local players to its All-State teams.

Indian Creek’s Faith Wiseman headed up the county contingent by earning a spot on the IBCA’s “Supreme 15” team, reserved for the top players in the state regardless of class. The large school senior All-State team, which also featured 15 players, included four locals — Audrey Annee and Rachel Wirts from Class 4A semistate finalist Center Grove, Lauren Foster from Indian Creek and Lauren Klem from Franklin.

Another Trojan, junior Lilly Bischoff, was picked for the large school underclass All-State team.

Earning honorable mention were three Franklin seniors, Erica Buening, Scarlett Kimbrell and Brooklyn York, as well as a pair of Center Grove guards, senior Aubrie Booker and junior Ava Grant.
