HILHAM, TENNESSEE
Betty Jane (Carmack) Upton, 82, of Hilham, Tennessee and a former resident of Franklin, Greenwood, and Amity died Friday, February 23rd in Livingston, Tennessee. She was born in Clay County, Tennessee to Stone and Oval Carmack and moved to this area where she lived for many years. She worked at the Chevrolet plant in Indianapolis.
Her son Glenn Johnson of Hilham, grandson Joseph Johnson of Cookeville, Tennessee and brother Harold Carmack of Glasgow, Kentucky survive along with several nephews and nieces, great-nephews and a great-niece, and great-great nephews and nieces of the central Indiana area and Kentucky.
She was married to Leslie Upton who preceded her in death. Three brothers also preceded her in death—-Glenn Carmack, Ray Carmack, and Robert Carmack.
Per her wishes there were to be no services. A memorial celebration will be held later.
