Phyllis Spearing Shea

GREENWOOD

On Feb. 24, 2024 Phyllis Shea, loving wife, mother, daughter and friend to everyone she met, passed away at the age of 60. She was born on Aug. 10, 1963 to Thomas and Mary (Schott) Spearing.

On July 2, 1988 she married the love of her life, Tony Shea. Her life was complete having raised two wonderful children, Wesley (Jordan) Shea and Hanna Shea, and watching them become successful adults.

Phyllis grew up on the east side of Indianapolis and graduated from Warren Central High School. She Graduated from Indiana University receiving her B.S. in Special Education, a master’s in counseling and an Ed,S in school psychology. For the majority of her career she was a teacher, counselor and school psychologist at Warren township schools. She truly loved her students and was a lifelong learner.

Phyllis had a passion for enjoying life through her many adventures including wilderness trips, European destinations, dragon boat racing, camping, swimming, hiking or just a walk in the great neighborhood she lived in. She did her best to see the good in everyone and believed we are all connected to each other and everything on this wonderfully beautiful planet. Her wish was that we all take care of ourselves, others and Mother Earth.

She was preceded in passing by her parents. Survivors include her husband and children, brothers Ed (Rosemary) Spearing and Paul (Susie) Spearing. Sisters Carol (Jim) Leonberger, Joan (Ted) Dudash and many nieces and nephews which she adored.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024 from 2:00 – 7:00 at The Sycamore at Mallow Run, 7070 W. Whiteland Rd. Bargersville IN 46106.

In lieu of flowers a donation to a charity of your choosing in her name would be appreciated.
