Aspire Johnson County announces finalists for women leader awards

Aspire Economic Development + Chamber Alliance announced the finalists for its 2024 Women Leaders awards.

The Champion of Women Award recognizes an organization that prioritizes women in leadership and provides women with growth opportunities, both inside and outside their workforces.

Finalists are AECOM Hunt, Everyday Leaders, Spotlight Strategies and Stage I Dance Academy.

The Woman Leader of the Year Award recognizes a woman who has made a significant contribution to her company or organization as an influencer, leader and ally.

Finalists are Melahni Ake with Everyday Leaders, Andrea Munn with Tilson HR, Gail Richards with Johnson County Community Foundation and Katie Stahlhut with Stage I Dance Academy.

The winner in each category will be revealed at the Woman Leaders Workshop, which will be held at the Valle Vista Golf and Conference Center Friday.

“Aspire is proud to recognize the contributions of these award nominees and the impact of women in leadership in our community,” Angela Vandersteen, Aspire vice president of investor development and relations, said in a statement on the announcement. “Our local businesses have created friendly and supportive work environments that encourage growth and advancement. We are grateful for the opportunity to highlight these amazing organizations and leaders who make it all possible.”

The Women Leaders Workshop is a platform to focus on the contributions women make in the business community and provide further leadership training. Last year, Aspire added quarterly leadership development programming for women and is continuing to offer these sessions in 2024.

Aspire’s 2024 Women Leaders Workshop is presented by Johnson Memorial Hospital. The awards program is presented by Ageless Aesthetics and VisionQuest Eyecare.
