Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of March 12

Work on the I-69 Finish Line Project continues this week.

On the southside, drivers should expect single and double-lane closures and 20-minute stoppages on Interstate 465 eastbound and westbound through Thursday from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. for strip patching at the I-465 entrance and exit ramps near Mooresville Road and on the eastbound Interstate 70 entrance ramp to I-465 southbound. Nightly lane closures are also planned on Meridian Street under I-465 between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. Wednesday for strip patching, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation update.

Motorists should also expect nightly lane closures and 20-minute stoppages on I-465 eastbound and westbound, and on Meridian Street under I-465 on Thursday between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. to allow for bridge beam delivery.

Crews are also working to repair potholes and could cause intermittent lane closures or traffic stoppages on asphalt portions of I-465. Emergency repairs will be made during the day, while other repairs will be made at night with overnight lane closures from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m, according to INDOT.

As for Interstate 69, drivers should expect a single-lane closure and intermittent 20-minute stoppages on the northbound lanes beginning just north of Stotts Creek and continuing for two miles while construction crews continue embankment work in this area. This alignment is expected until May 2024, INDOT officials say.

All road work is weather-dependent and could be delayed due to inclement weather.
