This home along East Pearl Street in Whiteland was severely damaged by an EF-3 tornado on March 31, 2023.
Whiteland residents are invited to an open forum about insurance and tornado recovery tonight.
The town of Whiteland and State Rep. Michelle Davis, R-Whiteland, have coordinated a forum with representatives from the Indiana Department of Insurance and the Johnson County Assessor’s Office. The forum will take place at 6 p.m. at the Clark Pleasant Branch of the Johnson County Public Library, 350 Clearwater Blvd., Whiteland.
People who have had issues with their insurance company or received extensive property damage after last year’s tornado are encouraged to attend, according to the town.
Discussion topics include:
- Understanding home and auto insurance policies, along with claim tips;
- Consumer steps to resolving insurance problems;
- Eligibility for property tax reassessments; and
- Questions or concerns related to the tornado
