He served 9 years active duty, and 3 years reserves in the United Sates Air Force. In 1967 while stationed in Germany, George met and married Daphne. They went on to have two daughters, Michele &Holly.

George was best known for being a humble and loving man. He had an amazing sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. His hobbies included years of research on his own scientific theory that dice rolls, while seemingly random, follow wave like patterns very similar to Elliot wave analysis used in charting and predicting stock patterns used by numerous stock professionals. The charts generated by repeatedly rolling dice many times proved to him that once a pattern was detected the next pattern could be predicted. He loved horse racing, especially the Kentucky Derby.

(brothers) David, Jim, Ken, Jerry and Harold Beal, (wife) Daphne Beal, 2 (daughters) Michele Purnell &Holly Moore, (son) Scott Purnell, and 3 (grandsons) George, Jamie, and Joshua Purnell along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends.
