Grizzly Cubs outslug Lancers

Franklin got home runs from Sara Small, Mia Herbert, Addie Mashino and Aubrey Leugers on the way to a 12-1 victory at Edinburgh on Monday. Adeline Blackwell had three hits and matched Mashino with three runs for the Grizzly Cubs (1-2), who got a combined four-hitter from pitchers Bryleigh Carlisle-Haltom, Annabelle Richter and Amaya Coit. Kyah Streeval had two hits and the lone run for the Lancers (0-4).

Warriors fall short against Flashes

Whiteland got three hits apiece from Josslyn Harbert and Maddy Myers but couldn’t muster much more in a 7-3 home loss to Franklin Central. Myers had a pair of RBIs for the Warriors (2-1).

Boys volleyball

Franklin sweeps Martinsville

Returning to action after a week off, Franklin cruised to a 25-15, 25-13, 25-13 sweep of Martinsville on Monday evening. Charlie Sanders had 31 assists and three service aces for the Grizzly Cubs (10-3), while Zach Newton had 11 kills and Chase Alyea added 10.
