Officials are seeking the public’s help in finding a Greenwood teen who disappeared three weeks ago.
Destiny Weathers, 16, was last seen on March 14 at her home in Greenwood. On that afternoon, Destiny Weathers reportedly told her family she was going to a nearby park and would be back before nightfall. At around 8 p.m. that day, she had still not returned home, according to a news release from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, or NCMEC.
Her family became increasingly worried and began to search for her. But she was nowhere to be found and has been missing ever since, the news release says.
Doug Weathers, Destiny’s father, told NCMEC this was “very unusual behavior” and that Destiny has never gone missing before. This has raised serious concerns for her safety, according to the news release.
Destiny Weathers is also being featured on the Ring’s Neighbors app, which has a partnership with NCMEC to increase awareness of missing children and bring them home. This feature reaches millions of users, providing real-time assistance in locating missing children, the news release says.
Destiny is 5 foot, 2 inches tall, 110 pounds and has hazel eyes with blonde hair. She is believed to be in the Greenwood or Indianapolis area, according to NCMEC.
Anyone with any information about Destiny Weathers or her disappearance are asked to contact NCMEC at 1-800-THE-LOST (1-800-843-5678) or the Greenwood Police Department 317-346-6336.
Her NCMEC case number is M747815301.
