Spencer A. Tarr

FRANKLIN

Spencer A. Tarr, 72 of Franklin, Indiana, passed away March 30, 2024 at Cedar Creek Assisted Living Facility.

He was born in Indianapolis on May 6, 1951 to Clarence (Bud) and Imogene (Hobson) Tarr who preceded him in death.

He was a 1969 graduate of Franklin Community High School and received his B.A. in Economics from Franklin College in 1973.

He was the owner/operator of Tarr Automotive Machine from 1979 until the time of his stroke on December 10, 1993. Spencer was one of the original founders of the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association and loved his antique tractors.

Spencer is survived by his brother, Randall (Karen) Tarr, nieces Miranda Tarr and Mallory (Tristand) Tucker and four great nephews.

Services were handled by Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home and were private.

The family would like to extend their thanks to all of his caregivers through the years, the staff of Cedar Creek Assisted Living facility and Main Street Hospice for their care and compassion.

Plans for a celebration of life are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions in Spencer’s memory be made to the Johnson County Antique Machinery Association, c/o Dwayne Hansford, 2364 S. 625 W., Shelbyville, Indiana 46176.
