Traffic pattern changes are incoming as thousands are expected to come to Johnson County this weekend for Monday’s total solar eclipse.
Here’s a list of some of the changes county residents should expect starting Friday and through Tuesday.
Bargersville/White River Township
Where: Smokey Row Road/County Road 625 West at the road’s intersection with County Road 144. No access to or from County Road 144 will be available on both the north and south legs of Smokey Row Road. County Road 144 will remain open and unrestricted, according to the Johnson County Highway Department.
When: Friday afternoon through Tuesday
Detour: Alternate access to County Road 144 will be available at the Whiteland Road roundabout. Local access to properties on County Road 625 West will be available through the Whiteland Road intersection to the south, or the Mullinix Road intersection to the north, according to the highway department.
Edinburgh
Rest Haven Cemetery
Where: 650 S. Eisenhower Drive. The cemetery will be closed to all vehicle traffic to prohibit parking and destruction of the grounds to view the eclipse, according to the town of Edinburgh.
When: Monday
Downtown Edinburgh
Where: Main Cross Street from Main Street to Holland Street, according to Edinburgh Police.
When: Monday
Franklin
Where: Jackson Street from Jefferson Street to Wayne Street.
When: 6 a.m. Saturday to 12 a.m. Monday night, according to Franklin Parks and Recreation.
