A non-exhaustive list of eclipse closings in Johnson County

Governments, businesses, schools and more are closing or changing hours for Monday’s total solar eclipse.

Johnson County is along the path of totality for the event. A partial eclipse will take place from 1:50 to 4:23 p.m, with the total eclipse being from approximately 3:05:52 to 3:09:54 p.m. in the Franklin area.

Thousands of people are expected to come to the county because of its location along the eclipse’s path of totality. Several organizations have announced closures, along with service or hour changes, because of the event’s expected impacts.

Here’s a list of some of the changes county residents should expect Monday. This is not an exhaustive list, but it is a list staff compiled from closings we saw on social media or were otherwise notified of.
