Sharyn Louise Kelly

of Greenwood, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on March 10, 2024. She was born on September 8, 1945, to the late William Palmer Bechtel and Fern Evelyn (Emerick) Bechtel.

Sharyn grew up in Odon, Indiana and played saxophone in the Odon Madison High School band. After attending Indiana State University, she was employed in the Human Resource departments of L.S. Ayres, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra and Opticom. She was also a realtor for several years.

Sharyn was well known for creating beautiful greeting cards. She also loved scrapbooking and watercolor paintings as well as watching QVC and game shows. Spending time with family and friends was also very important to her. Sharyn was a member of Greenwood Christian Church.

In additions to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Darryl L. Bechtel.

Sharyn is survived by her daughters, DeeAnn L. Nelson, and Kimberly J. Kelly, both of Greenwood; two grandsons, Shaun M. (Shelby) Nelson of Franklin and Dylan T. Nelson of Greenwood; one great granddaughter, Miller Grace Nelson of Franklin; one brother, Jack L. (Karen) Bechtel of New Palestine; nieces, nephew, and many dear friends.

A celebration of Sharyn’s life will take place from 1:00 pm to 3:00pm on April 13, 2024, at Greenwood Christian Church 2045 Averitt Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143.

Donations may be made to the family to disperse accordingly.
