Oma Sexton

BONITA SPRINGS, FLORIDA

Oma Sexton, age 87, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away on February 11, 2024. Oma was born on February 15, 1936, in Isom, Kentucky, to her parents James Breeding and Vina Caudill Breeding. She was the beloved wife of Arlie (Hap) Sexton, who preceded her in death. Oma was also preceded in death by her parents, son and her siblings. Oma was a loving and devoted mother to her daughters Carol (Don) Fleener, Connie Shepherd, and son Darrell Sexton. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Dawn Wineinger, Corey Fleener, Chad Sexton, Shannon Evans, Brent Sexton, and her five great-grandchildren.

Oma had a vibrant personality and a zest for life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an active member of The Springs Church in the Park, where she found joy in attending services and connecting with friends. Oma also had a passion for walking and visiting her favorite store, Bensons, where she would play the lottery and talk with the owners. She enjoyed visits to the casinos. Oma worked as a dietary aide in Florida, dedicating her time and skills to helping others. Her caring nature extended beyond her career as she was known for her kind-heartedness and willingness to lend a helping hand.

A memorial service to celebrate Oma’s life will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Saturday, April 13th from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association in memory of Oma Sexton.

Oma Sexton will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Her legacy of love, faith, and joy will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
