He is survived by son, Derek Lautenbach (Stacey) and granddaughters Hadley and Mia; daughter, Deann Lautenbach and grandson Josson Lautenbach; sister, Margaret Dougherty (Alton) and brother Ronald Lautenbach (Linda). He was employed by Arvin Automotive for 40 years and also grain farmed.

Upon retirement, Don enjoyed fishing, tinkering in his barn, taking care of his yard and his trips to the Shelbyville casino to socialize.

Don loved his grandkids. He always made an effort to go watch Hadley’s and Mia’s sporting events. But, especially enjoyed time with his grandson Josson when he would stay the weekend. Don taught him how to shoot guns, mow, work a tractor trailer, & was recently teaching him how to drive. Fishing was a fun time for them as well. They have a lot of “don’t tell your Mom” moments.
