McGinnis retires, Edinburgh again searching for a town manager

Edinburgh’s town manager announced he is retiring and the town is once again without a manager.

The town council announced during their Monday meeting that Kevin McGinnis emailed his resignation April 16. His last day as a town employee was Friday, he said.

McGinnis was hired as town manager 10 months ago and previously was a town manager for Bargersville and Whiteland.

He had come out of retirement to become Edinburgh’s town manager and now feels it is time retire again, he said.

“There comes a point in your life when you just need to slow down, retire and take it easy, that point in time is here for me,” McGinnis said.

The town council on Monday appointed Council President Ryan Piercefield will serve as interim town manager until a replacement is hired.

The council is now in search of a new town manager and will be posting the job listing soon, officials said.
