Middle schoolers can learn about trades at Central Nine summer camp

Central Nine is offering a camp for rising 7th and 8th graders. The camp, dubbed Nineovations Summer Camp, offers different experiences for campers.

The camp will be held from June 4-7 from 8 to 11 a.m. and is $100 per camper. The price includes a T-shirt, Friday’s expo luncheon and camp project. The camp will be held Central Nine Career Center located at 1999 U.S. 31 S., Greenwood.

Campers can sign up to learn about auto service, medical assisting, fire & rescue, HVAC or landscaping.

Each camp will be hosted by Central Nine instructors, with help from students currently enrolled in their programs, allowing campers to gain a real-world perspective on the benefits of higher education and training.

Over four days, campers will select one of the five camp experiences and complete hands-on projects while exploring that career. On June 7 at 11 a.m. parents are invited to a camp showcase on campus.
