State Rep. Davis plans illegal immigration town hall for next week

A local state representative will host a town hall on illegal immigration next week.

State Rep. Michelle Davis, R-Whiteland, has organized a town hall focusing on illegal immigration and its effects on businesses and the community. It will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. on May 2, at the Pleasant Township Trustee’s Office, 70 N. Railroad St., Whiteland.

During the town hall, officials will explore the challenges faced by employers and the effects on the local economy. Community members will be able to hear from experts and community leaders as they share their insights and experiences, according to Davis’ office.

Community members and local businesses are also invited to share their perspectives on a perceived “lack of border security” and how it is affecting them. Davis is looking forward to meeting and gathering ideas from those she represents to best serve the community at the Indiana Statehouse, according to a flyer on the event.
