Letter to the Editor: Honoring the Masonic Hall’s landmark status

To the Editor:

Having family in Indiana, I read the Daily Journal article: “Johnson County Museum celebrating Masonic Temple’s 100th anniversary.” I, myself, am a 5th generation Master Mason and I happen to also be a dual member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #264 in Franklin, Nebraska and I truly enjoy the brilliant architecture of Masonic Temples of bygone years. They were built to last. I sometimes ponder with awe the enormous number of men who walked through those doors and were initiated into the world’s largest fraternity. I am very pleased that the Johnson County officials decided to make this historic landmark the home of their museum. Masons have a long and distinguished history, so it is a fitting venue. I wish the museum the best of luck and wish them the best at maintaining such a wonderful sight that has such deep roots in the community.

Sincerely,
