Johnson County Community Foundation awards mental health grants

The Johnson County Community Foundation has awarded nearly $69,000 in grants to help improve mental health throughout the county.

Announced Monday, the foundation’s grants committee is providing funding to eight organizations. The money comes from a sustainable, long-term program to fund mental health services, support and counseling for local residents that was created in 2022.

The fund was kick-started by a $10,000 grant from the Duke Energy Foundation and has grown with the support of area businesses, nonprofit groups and individuals. Grants from the fund focus on addressing unmet mental health service needs.
