Open house planned for new water treatment plant

The Town of Edinburgh will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house for the new water treatment plant on May 22 at 10 a.m.

The public is welcome to attend the celebration. The water department staff will lead tours of the facility from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served.

The project includes a new 1,000-gallon-per-minute well and rehabilitation of the three existing wells. It produces 2.1 million gallons per day and is expandable to 2.8 million gallons per day.

It was designed by Wessler Engineering Inc. of Indianapolis and constructed by Graves Construction Services Inc. of Switz City. The wells are by Peerless Midwest Inc. of Tipton.
