Police: 2 shot in Franklin neighborhood

Two people have been taken to area hospitals following a shooting in Franklin.

Franklin Police were called to the 1200 block of N. Aberdeen Drive in the Branigin Woods subdivision on a report of a shooting at about 1:48 p.m. Saturday afternoon. They found two people, a male and female between the approximate ages of 32-35, with gunshot wounds, said Kirby Cochran, police chief.

Both people have been transported for treatment for their injuries. Cochran was unsure as of 2:20 p.m. if the injuries were life-threatening, he said.

There is no reason for the public to be concerned at this time, Cochran said. Franklin Police do not believe they have another shooter or anyone else involved at this time, he said.
