Trojans win eighth straight

Center Grove ran its win streak to eight with a 13-2 triumph at Martinsville on Monday. Riley Janda and Ana Powell each homered and drove in two runs for the Trojans (18-6), with Janda going 4 for 5. Madisyn Tharpe and Mae Munson also had two RBIs apiece in support of winning pitcher Riley Henson (5 1/3 IP, 2 H, 9 K, 0 BB).

Lancers rout Mohawks

Kenna Streeval homered and had six RBIs while also pitching four shutout innings as Edinburgh rolled to a 12-1 home win over Waldron. Eloise Cox drove in three runs and Elizabeth Richardson Hernandez went 3 for 3 to lead the Lancers (7-11, 5-4 Mid-Hoosier), who broke the game open with 11 runs in the second inning.

Woodmen take care of Flashes

Greenwood was an 8-1 winner over Franklin Central on Monday. Landen Smith had two hits and two RBIs for the Woodmen (10-11), while Brendan Bailey got the pitching win and drove in a run.

Boys golf

Center Grove wins four-way

Led by a 6-under-par 30 from Drew Hardin, Center Grove shot a 133 and picked up a nine-hole victory over Plainfield (147), Mooresville (158) and Greenwood (159) on Monday. Brody Holubar and Nathan Springer each added a 34 for the Trojans, while James Beetz had a hole-in-one on the way to a 35. The Woodmen posted a season-best team score in defeat, led by 37s from Jahlen Burton and Kalen Rowland.

Girls tennis

Braves finish out with loss

Indian Creek dropped its regular-season finale on Monday, 4-1, against Greencastle. The No. 1 doubles team of Lanie Swanson and Lexi Sichting had the lone point for the Braves (12-5, 5-3 WIC), picking up a 6-1, 6-4 win. Indian Creek will play either Franklin or Center Grove in a sectional semifinal on Thursday.
