Effie Mae Knapp

FRANKLIN

Effie Mae (Clayton) Knapp, 88, of Franklin passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024.

She was born on March 26, 1936 in Russell Springs, Kentucky to Mayme (Clayton) Redmon and Tink Clayton. She moved to Indiana when she was 15 and went on to meet the love of her life. She married Elba Knapp on July 13, 1957. She is survived by children, Jeff Knapp, Greg Knapp (Deborah Bolin) and Kelley Hartman; grandchildren, Leanne Short (Jared), Nicole Hukill (Brent) and Hannah Hartman; great grandchildren, Maddox Short and Maren Short. She was preceded in passing by her parents; husband and siblings, Lois Harris, Audrey Smith and Gladys Williams, as well as her mother-in-law Emma Sego and her Aunt Lizzie.

Effie was a graduate of Greenfield Christian Academy.

She was employed by Western Electric in Electronic Assembly, retiring after many years of dedicated service.

She was a kind-hearted, generous, welcoming, and thoughtful wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family and cared for them all deeply.

She had a heart of gold.

Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday, May 15, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with a Celebration of Life Service on Thursday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with burial following at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
