Franklin Police collecting food for senior services

Franklin Police Department is partnering with Kroger to help fight hunger in the community.

On June 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. police will unite to “Pack the Cruiser” at Kroger, 970 N. Morton St. The police department will also be accepting dry goods and canned donations at the Franklin Police Department, 2801 N. Morton St., until May 31, from Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

All donations will go to the Johnson County Senior Services.

Items needed include: peanut butter and jelly in a plastic jar; canned fruit and vegetables; cereal boxes; granola bars; applesauce and fruit cups; instant oatmeal; macaroni and cheese cups; and canned tuna and chicken.

Low-sodium and low-sugar items are preferred.
