Mark Tracy Craven

Mark Tracy Craven passed away on May 21, 2024 at the age of 62 after complications from a stroke in 2021. He was born on April 10, 1962 in Southbend, Indiana to Janice and Joseph Craven. He has one sibling, Michelle Powell.

He grew up on the southside of Indianapolis playing football, basketball, and baseball for Perry Meridian High School graduating in 1980. He then graduated in 1984 from Tri-State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He married his first wife and high school sweetheart, Lorri Lewis Craven, in 1984 and became a dedicated father to their three daughters: Brittany Craven, Sarah Craven, and Savannah Craven. He was grandfather to Brittany’s sons Aiden and Avery.

He remarried in 2014 to Pam Gambrel Craven and became step-father to four boys: Nick Grider, Chase Grider, Austin Grider, and Dakota Day. He was also grandfather to Nick’s sons Mason and Jackson, and Chase’s sons Carter and Beckham.

Mark had a passion for sports. He closely followed programs like IU Basketball, the Pacers, the Fever, the Colts, the Texas Rangers, the PGA, NASCAR, IndyCar, and more. He passed on his love for sports to his girls, teaching them to play golf, basketball, and softball. He coached many teams in the Whiteland community, including girls basketball and boys baseball.

Mark loved living on East Princes Lake in Nineveh, Indiana where he enjoyed hobbies of boating, fishing, golfing, grilling, and maintaining his property on the lake. He would retreat to Rising Star Casino with his wife to get away on occasion.

Mark also had a deep love for music. You would often find him jamming to ACDC, Gary Allan, Kenny Chesney, and many other artists. He loved going to concerts enjoying live music.

Over the years he worked at Shook Construction and Pepper Construction of Indiana. He finished his career at R. E. Dimond &Associates where he was a Project Manager.

He is much loved and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
