GCA rolls, Lancers eliminated

Greenwood Christian had no trouble earning its way into the title game at the Class A Morristown Sectional, cruising to a 33-0 win over Indianapolis Metropolitan in semifinal action on Saturday. Cole Muhlahuser, Preston Van Til and Eli Jackson each had four RBIs for the Cougars (11-11), while Will Simons went 4 for 5 and drove in three runs.

Edinburgh lost to Indianapolis Lutheran, 11-1, in the other semifinal. Milas Burkman plated Gabe Bennett with the lone run for the Lancers (10-13-1).

Braves advance to state meet

Indian Creek earned a spot in the June 1 state meet at Indiana University with a sixth-place finish at the Edgewood Regional on Saturday. Nathan Dillingham won his shot put flight and teamed with Daly Britt, Sam Hiner and Henry Noel to win a boys 4×100 relay heat, while the Braves also won a girls 4×100 heat behind the quartet of Andi Tunks, Ruthie Ringer, Olivia Pendleton and Kaylee Rose. Franklin’s Reese Otchero-Danso won his heat in the 400-meter dash.

Trojans second in tourney

Brody Holubar was the medalist with a round of 64, helping No. 7 Center Grove to a second-place finish in the Providence Invitational at Champions Pointe on Saturday. James Beetz added a 68 for the Trojans, who finished with a team total of 284 to land five shots back of No. 3 Westfield. Nathan Springer (74) and Drew Hardin (78) rounded out the team scoring.
