MORGANTOWN
Stephen (Whitey) Lewis 80, gained his wings to join Annabell on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Whitey was born Sunday, September 12, 1943, one of eighteen children born to Jewell and Gertrude (Covert) Lewis.
Whitey was a custom home builder and worked for Home City Ice / Polar Ice.
Although Whitey was only 5 foot 5 inches, to his family he was 10 foot tall, and “he was wound tight”.
Whitey is survived by his sons, Tommy (Audrey) Lewis and Stacy (Amber) Lewis, and his daughter Angie Lewis. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Marie (Catt) Lewis.
A celebration of Whitey’s life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, at 12 Noon at Indiana Memorial Trafalgar Chapel 3039 W. 300 S. and State Road 135 in Trafalgar. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, where he will be laid to rest next to his loving wife Annabell.
