Over the span of four hours Saturday, hundreds of food donations were raised for those in need at Kroger stores in Franklin and Greenwood.
Kroger hosted its “Pack the Cruiser” event at the Kroger locations in Franklin, 970 N. Morton St., and Greenwood, 3100 Meridian Park Drive. Officers from Franklin and Greenwood police were present to gather donations at their city’s respective stores.
Community members who stopped to shop during the day were asked to donate either cash or to buy food items for those in need. Donations made at the Franklin Kroger will go to Johnson County Senior Services while donations made at the Greenwood store will go to Midwest Food Bank in Indianapolis.
