Bethel May Taylor 85 of Edinburgh, Indiana passed away on June 1, 2024 at her residence. She was born January 31, 1939 in Edinburgh. She was the daughter of Stanley and Myrtle Louise (Phillips) Hedger. She married Gerald Ottis Taylor on June 26, 1961 and he preceded her in death on February 3, 1988.

She is survived by her children, Charlotta (John) Ferril of Columbus, Indiana, James (Star) Todd of Waynetown, Indiana, Charnia Howson of South Carolina, Judith Stonehocker of Prineville, Oregon, Janice (Jay) Cassell of Edinburgh, Indiana, Jeanette (Lonnie) Stroud of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Jaylan (Robert) Marks of New York, step-children, James Taylor of Austin, Indiana, Kathy Bryant of Austin, Indiana, and Rae Jean Anderson of Austin, Indiana, bonus son, Shane Hedger of Elizabethtown, Indiana, 30 grandchildren, 60 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren, and sisters, Lola (Ellis) Taylor of Edinburgh, Indiana, Violet Todd of Mason, Ohio, Ruby Kent of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Velma Brown of Edinburgh, Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, son-in-law, Craig Stonehocker, brothers, Millard Hedger, Melvin Hedger, and Stanley Dale Hedger, and sisters, Edith Gail Hedger, Ethel Pearl Haley, and Julia E. “Julie” Burton.

Bethel May was a member of the Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle. She retired from Amos-Hill in Edinburgh. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading her Bible, going to church, genealogy, fishing, camping, playing BINGO, and Game Night.

A funeral service will be conducted by Reverend Darren Burton at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Edinburgh Apostolic Tabernacle. Calling will be from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, June 4 at the church and on Wednesday from noon until time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
