GREENWOOD
Patty Jo (Gibbs) Cooksey, 71, of Greenwood, Indiana passed away on May 30, 2024 at Compass Park (Indiana Masonic Home) in Franklin.
She was born October 4, 1952 in Kentucky to Billy and Patsy Gibbs. She was preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Keith Cooksey.
She is survived by her daughters Leslie Wood (Andy) and Laura Williams (Danny) both of Greenwood, and grandchildren Jake, Catie, and Maddie Wood; Abbie and Jackson Davis. She is also survived by her stepmother Sylvia Gibbs, brother, Rick Gibbs, and sister, Paula Amick.
Patty graduated in 1970 from Triton Central High School.
Patty retired in 2004 from General Motors after 32 years. In retirement, she enjoyed traveling, walking, playing cards, and riding motorcycles with “the best husband ever”.
Affectionately known as Nana by her grandchildren, Patty loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them. Although her mind failed her in her final years, she continued to smile through her last days.
Private services will be held.
Patty’s family is especially grateful to the wonderful caregivers and staff at the Memory Care Facility in the Compass Park Medical Center, Franklin, Indiana for their compassionate care of her.
