Southport teacher names Teacher of the Year

Jamie Marshall, a Johnson County resident, was named the Southport High School Teacher of the Year.

At their scholarship banquet, one of her students received a scholarship in her honor.

Jamie was also a teacher at Center Grove High School and served as the International Club Sponsor. While teaching at Center Grove she earned her license in High Ability Education at Purdue University and completed her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership with an administrative license at IU.

When she is not inspiring students, she enjoys spending time with her husband Lance and their three children.

Indiana high schools to be honored at Early College Celebration

Center Grove High School was recognized during an Early College Endorsement Celebration held by the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning at the University of Indianapolis.

Center Grove High School was recognized for having an endorsed Early College High School for ten or more years, they have been endorsed since 2011.

Early College High Schools are designed to increase college-going and success, especially for students who have traditionally been underrepresented in higher education. To be designated as an endorsed Early College High School, schools must offer students the opportunity to graduate from high school with a high school diploma and the Indiana College Core, an associate degree, a technical credential, or 15 or more dual credits.
