Gary’s life was a testament to his faith, dedication, and love for his family and community.

Born to Al and Eva Robinson, Gary grew up with a strong sense of family and community values, which he carried throughout his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Don Robinson, and his daughter Mary Meagan.

Gary was the devoted husband of Elizabeth Robinson, with whom he shared many joyful years. He was the loving father of Mallory (James) Calhoon, Morgan (Chad) Mitchell, and Molly Robinson, and the proud Papa to his grandchildren: Nora, Nolan, Josiah, Naomi, and Abram. He also leaves behind his dear sister, Rita Butts.

Gary dedicated 43 years of his life to educating and shaping young minds as a public school teacher at Center Grove Middle School Central. His passion for teaching was matched only by his love for coaching. Gary inspired countless students through his roles as the coach of the high school boys’ and girls’ basketball teams, girls’ tennis, and middle school volleyball and football teams. His influence extended beyond the classroom and the playing field, as he also served as a respected member of the Center Grove School Board.

A man of many interests, Gary was an avid golfer and pickleball player. One of his most cherished memories was fulfilling his bucket list trip to Israel, where he deepened his connection to his faith.

Gary’s legacy is one of unwavering faith, love, and service. He will be remembered as a follower of Christ who led by example, touched countless lives, and left an indelible mark on the Center Grove community.
