Judith Arlene ‘Judy’ Lewis

Mrs. Judith Arlene ‘Judy’ Lewis of Franklin, passed away Monday, June 10, 2024. She was 82. Judy was born in Johnson County, Indiana, a daughter of the late John Maurice and Virginia Arlene (Voris) Mullinix.

Judy was an elementary school teacher in Perry Township for 33 years, primarily teaching first grade. She graduated from Whiteland High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Indiana Central University and a Master of Education from IUPUI.

Judy was very active in her church, Resurrection Lutheran Church, and served on a variety of committees throughout the years. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting and crocheting. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Judy is survived by her husband of 53 years, Jerry Dean Lewis; a brother, John Michael Mullinix; her daughter, Lezlie Lynne (Tim) Rovnanik; her son, Eric Todd (Kellie) Mullinix; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a very large extended family.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in passing by a brother, Maurice Jerald Mullinix.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 am, Monday, June 17, 2024 at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 445 E. Stop 11 Road, Indianapolis, with Rev. Kathy VanOsdol and Rev. Ryan Bailey officiating. She will be entombed following the services at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens, Greenwood.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until the hour of service Monday at the church.

For those choosing to make a memorial contribution in Judy’s honor, the family has suggested those be offered to the American Cancer Society or St. Francis Hospice of Indiana.
