Amity railroad crossing to close for work Tuesday

A county road in Amity will be closed for one day to remove and repave a railroad crossing.

Legacy Excavating LLC, on behalf of Louisville & Indiana Railroad Company, is expected to close County Road 250 South at the railroad crossing on Tuesday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather permitting.

The work is to remove the railroad crossing and repave the at-grade crossing on County Road 250 South. The crossing will be closed to all traffic during the closure, according to Johnson County Highway Department.

Traffic should use the signed detour route of County Road 600 East, County Road 600 South and Old U.S. 31 to bypass the closure.
