Donald Bruce Stafford

FRANKLIN, IN.

Donald Bruce Stafford, 80 of Franklin, IN and formerly of Paoli, Indianapolis, and Plainfield, IN passed away Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Homeview Health and Rehabilitation Center in Franklin, IN.

He was born October 23, 1943, in Indianapolis, IN to William C. and Esther L. (Krug) Stafford. He married Jane (Hornaday) Stafford on June 27, 1964, in Bloomington, IN. She survives.

He was a graduate of Butler University where he received his pharmacy degree.

Donald was a pharmacist at I.C. Pharmacy at Shelby St. and Hanna Ave. in Indianapolis, later serving as a pharmacist at Methodist Hospital, Henry County Hospital, Marsh Supermarket, and Morgan County Hospital. Donald also owned and operated the Plemmons Drug Store in Paoli, IN for fifteen years.

He was a past member of Paoli Lions Club and Optimist Club, and he was a member and supporter of the Humane Society of Johnson County.

Survivors include his wife Jane (Hornaday) Stafford of Franklin, IN, son James C. (Laura) Stafford of Bargersville, IN, daughter Anne E. (Bronson) Troyer of Brownsburg, IN, sister Mary Walker of Eckerty, IN, brother Doug (Sandy) Stafford of Dunlap, TN, brother William “Bill” (Vicki) Stafford of Plainfield, IN, grandchildren Megan Stafford, Andrew Stafford, Adam Troyer and Luke Troyer, and nieces Kate Walker, Bekkah Walker, Jennifer Stafford, and Nikki Stafford.

He was preceded in death by his brothers Robert “Bob” Stafford and Wesley A. Stafford.

Father Whitney Smith will conduct a memorial service on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 12:30 PM at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 600 Paul Hand Blvd in Franklin, IN where the family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until service time at the church. Burial will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Indianapolis, IN.
