Franciscan receives certification

Franciscan Health Indianapolis has received Thrombectomy Stroke Certification from the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).

Certification is a process through which healthcare organizations demonstrate compliance with national standards. Certification by ACHC reflects an organization’s dedication and commitment to meeting standards that facilitate a higher level of performance and patient care.

Certification is achieved by the successful completion of a set of rigorous standards for performing endovascular thrombectomy, a minimally-invasive surgical procedure used to treat acute ischemic stroke and providing post-procedural care. Mechanical thrombectomy saves lives and prevents the debilitating effects of stroke.

Franciscan Health Indianapolis was also named No. 1 in Indiana for Stroke Care by Healthgrades for 2024.
