BARGERSVILLE
Kenneth E. Scantland, 77, of Bargersville, passed away on June 19, 2024. He was born on September 26, 1946 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Norman J. and Ruby Scantland.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Bargersville.
He loved spending time with family and friends, going to dinner at his favorite restaurants and spending his winters in Florida.
In his prime he enjoyed pitching horseshoes, bowling and working in his yard. He took great pride in his home and lawn and was a genuine father figure to more than just his own children. He was proud of his accomplishments and always happy to help others when he could.
He worked at Marsh in his youth, retired from Smallwood Appliance and co-owned K&L Cards in Greenwood during his retirement.
He is survived by his children, Leonard Scantland and Laura (Travis) Mattox; grandchildren, Alexandria and Matthew Mattox; and sisters, Shirley Sallee and Brenda Garner.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 45 years, Gloria Scantland.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM Sunday at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135. Funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 AM Monday, June 24, 2024. He will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
