Franklin

Found child

900 block of Walnut St.: Reported at 5:53 p.m. Thursday that a child had been found.

Escape

900 block of Wilson Way: Reported at 10:32 p.m. Thursday that a Johnson County Sheriff’s Office special deputy traveling through Franklin needed help with a combative prisoner. A Franklin Police Officer responded and helped the deputy with removing the prisoner from the vehicle. Other deputies arrived to transport the prisoner a short time later.

Greenwood

Property damage

1600 block of Gordon Drive: Reported at 1:34 p.m. Thursday that non-vandalism related property damage had occurred.

Road rage

North Emerson Avenue and East Main Street: Reported at 3:19 p.m Thursday that road rage had occurred.

Theft

1298 N. Madison Ave., Big O Tires: Reported at 4:16 p.m. Thursday that theft by an employee had occurred.

Shoplifting

1251 N. U.S. 31, Von Maur: Reported at 7:24 p.m. Thursday that shoplifting had occurred. Two juveniles were arrested and released to their parents on the scene.

882 S. State Road 135, Walmart: Reported at 8:13 p.m. Thursday that shoplifting had occurred. A woman was issued a summons to appear in court for shoplifting.

Narcotics

7668 W. State Road 135, Gailes Gas, Morgantown: A deputy reported at 10:23 p.m. Thursday that while patrolling, they saw a driver of a truck not wearing a seatbelt and speeding. The truck was pulled over near the Morgan County line. The driver said they were not wearing a seatbelt because they weren’t feeling well. The deputy could smell marijuana in the truck while speaking with the driver, who denied having marijuana. However, after a search, the deputy found marijuana in the truck. The passenger told deputies the marijuana belonged to them, but both the driver and passenger later said it belonged to both of them. Both the driver and the passenger were given summons for the marijuana possession. The driver was also given warnings for speeding and failing to use a seatbelt.
