Franklin Chamber to pilot Young Entrepreneur Grant program

The Franklin Chamber Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the Greater Franklin Chamber of Commerce, is launching a new pilot program aimed at fostering the entrepreneurial spirit among youth under 18 years of age.

This initiative aims to support enterprising young entrepreneurs so they can bring their creative business ideas to life. The foundation will award a grant of $500 to a successful candidate to help fund their entrepreneurial project. This grant is intended to assist with essential start-up costs, enabling the young entrepreneur to develop their business concept and gain valuable experience in the world of entrepreneurship, the foundation announced.

“We are thrilled to support the next generation of business leaders through this pilot program,” Rosie Chambers, president and CEO of the Franklin Chamber, said in a statement on the new program. “Our goal is to empower young minds with the tools and resources they need to turn their ideas into reality, while also instilling a sense of confidence and business acumen that will serve them well in the future.”

The pilot program is open to all residents of Johnson County who are under 18. Applicants are required to submit an application that outlines the project, sustainability and potential impact to the community. A panel of local business leaders and members of the Franklin Chamber Foundation will review the applications and select the most promising project, according to the foundation.

Applications for the pilot program are now open and will be accepted until Aug. 5. Interested candidates can find more information and apply online at franklincoc.org/news.

Funding for this pilot program is provided through donations and fundraising efforts of the foundation.
