Franklin

Theft

2125 N. Morton St., Walmart: Reported at 5:30 p.m. Thursday that a male walked past the point of sale and loaded $1,944 worth of merchandise that was not paid for into a vehicle. After being spotted by a Walmart employee, the man left the items and ran on foot across U.S. 31, while the woman driver fled the scene before officers arrived. The man was located behind the Steak n’ Shake and taken back to Walmart for questioning. He was searched and an officer found a clear vial of white powdered substance in his right pocket which tested positive for methamphetamine. The man was arrested.

Walmart: Reported at 7:53 p.m. Thursday that a juvenile stole a box of earrings with a total amount of $15.94. An employee from Walmart advised they are not going to pursue charges.

Walmart: Reported at 9:34 p.m. Thursday that a man left with $42.48 worth of stolen goods. He dropped the items and fled when a Walmart employee “spooked” him. The man was located at nearby at Lowes and was arrested. The man was previously convicted for theft at the same Walmart in 2023.

Hit and run

W. Jefferson Street and Westview Drive: A woman reported at 7:07 p.m. Thursday she was struck from behind by a white passenger car while entering the roundabout. She then struck an SUV also traveling through the roundabout. The SUV had damage to the passenger side near the rear wheel. The woman’s car had damage to the driver’s side front bumper and wheel from impact with the SUV, as well as scrapes, a tear in the rear bumper and white paint transfer. The white vehicle was not found on FLOCK cameras near the timeframe of the crash.

Shoplifting

1251 N. U.S. 31, JCPenney: Reported at 6:03 p.m. Thursday that shoplifting had occurred and a woman was arrested.

Harassment

1293 N. State Road 135, Kentucky Fried Chicken: Reported at 2:21 p.m. Thursday that the former general manager of KFC was driving through the parking lot of KFC and the complainant wanted them trespassed. Complainant was advised to call police next time person on scene for the trespass warning to be taken care of.

Drug investigation

Colonial Way and W. Greenbriar Drive: Reported at 4:19 a.m. Friday that a man was arrested for possession of a legend drug and methamphetamine.

Personal injury crashes

4:52 p.m. Wednesday — State Road 135 and Faith St. A man, 42, reported pain through his entire body. The other driver reported no injuries.

10:37 p.m. Wednesday — E. Main St. near Commerce Parkway West Drive. A pedestrian, a 17-year-old juvenile, reported pain in his hip/upper leg. Two drivers reported no injuries.

11:34 a.m. Thursday — County Line Road and Madison Ave. A woman, 63, reported an abrasion to her elbow/lower arm. A woman, 62, reported a contusion/bruise to her head.

11:26 a.m. Thursday — Interstate 65. A woman, 23, reported pain to her abdomen/pelvis.

5:52 p.m. Thursday — Fry Road and Riverside Drive. A woman, 68, reported an injury to her chest.

9:11 a.m. Thursday — Main St. at Monticello Drive.

2:04 p.m. Thursday — State Road 135 and Stones Crossing Road.

2:39 p.m. Thursday — Worthsville Road and west of S. U.S. 31.
