William (Bill/Billy) Leonard Mays, Jr. born to William and Ethel Mays on August 16, 1950 and died June 23, 2024. Bill grew up in Peoga, Indiana. Bill served in the United States Marine Corps. Bill is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Jodi Mays Flake, son William “BJ” Mays (Kristi), step-daughter Jennifer Baker Helms (Christopher), his sisters Carolyn Sizemore (Theo), Suzi Dilley (Michael), Betty Lou Williams (Troy), Patsy Mays and his brothers Joseph Mays, Jim Bob Mays (Terri). Bill is also survived by three grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Bill worked throughout his life as a plumber and later in life as a truck driver. He loved Nascar and drag racing, enjoyed muscle cars, loved gardening and dogs. Bill loved driving his semi-truck. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Ethel Mays, his brother-in-law Theo, his nephews Brandon and Ryan Mays and Richard Sizemore. Billy was loved by his family and will be missed. The Mays family will be holding a family gathering to celebrate Billy’s life on a future date.
