Vote by July 5 for the next Gateway Services lemon shake-up flavor

With a dose of democracy, a sweet tradition is even sweeter this year.

With mixed feedback from last year’s blueberry lemon shake-up flavor, Gateway Services is letting fans of the famed Johnson County 4-H Fair drink choose the next flavor.

Four candidates have entered the race to delight fair-goers: cherry, mango, Arnold Palmer and raspberry.

People can vote for their favorite by donating $3 on Gateway Services’ new becauseOne page, becauseone.com/n/gatewayservicesinc. Each $1 donated allocates one vote to the flavor of the voter’s choice.

Unlike in the upcoming presidential election, voters are encouraged to vote as many times as they want. Voting for the new flavor ends July 5.

Proceeds from the new flavor are part of Gateway Services’ fundraising for their upcoming appearance on Dancing with the Johnson County Stars. Their goal this year is to raise money to resurface their parking lot and install new flooring for the day room that serves county residents with disabilities.
