Oren Elmer Snyder, 92 of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2024.

He was born on May 6, 1932 in Urmeyville, Indiana to Elmer Ray and Minnie (Breedlove) Snyder. He married Wilma G. Snyder who preceded him in passing. He is survived by daughters, Janet Snyder of Minneapolis and Evelyn Bradley of Franklin and grandson, Ryan Zimmerman; three great-grandchildren, Cailey Kean Zimmerman, Kardi Zimmerman and Ryan Zimmerman and special friend, Naomi Miller. He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Wilma; and siblings, David Snyder, Carl Snyder, Margaret “Snyder” Coers, Harold Snyder, Glenn Snyder and Charles Snyder, Phyllis Wirey and son, David Zimmerman.

He was a 1951 graduate of Franklin High School. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp.

Oren was employed by Chevy Truck and Bus, retiring after thirty years of dedicated service.

He was a member of the Local 23 UAW Union; Franklin American Legion Post No. 205 and the Thunderbird Car Club. He enjoyed car clubs, mushroom hunting and fishing.

Pastor Tom Knight will conduct a Celebration of Life for Oren on Wednesday, July 3rd at 11:00 a.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Wednesday, July 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to time of service at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin. Military Honors will be conducted by the Franklin American Legion Post No. 205 and the United States Marine Corps.
