What’s open, closed for the 4th of July in Johnson County

As America celebrates its 248th birthday, many governments and some businesses will be closed.

However, it’s business as usual for grocery stores, pharmacies and more.

Here is what’s closed and open on Independence Day:

BUSINESSES

AIM Media/Daily Journal The AIM Media Customer Service Center will be closed on Thursday in observance of Independence Day. The Daily Journal’s office will also be closed and will reopen at 8 a.m. Friday.

Banks — Most, if not all banks will be closed.

Grocery stores — Meijer, Kroger and Walmart are expected to be open regular hours.

Pharmacies — CVS and Walgreens are expected to be open regular hours.

GOVERNMENTS

All federal, state and local government agencies will be closed. This includes the U.S. Postal Service, the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles and city/county offices.

Johnson County Animal Shelter — Closed. Those with animal-related emergencies who need an animal control officer should call dispatch at 317-346-6336.

Libraries — Greenwood Public Library, all Johnson County Public Library branches closed.
