Morgantown Road reopens near Center Grove High School; new stoplight in place

Morgantown Road is once again open to traffic in White River Township following the installation of a stop light.

The Johnson County Highway Department announced Friday that Morgantown Road is open to traffic at the intersection with Pennington Road/Chancery Boulevard south of Center Grove High School. The road had been closed since the beginning of June for the installation of a new traffic signal.

The new signal will be fully operational in the coming weeks. In the meantime though, it will flash yellow for traffic on Morgantown Road and flash red for traffic on Pennington Road/Chancery Boulevard, highways officials say.

Drivers in the area are asked to be alert for construction crews that may be around in the coming weeks.
