Sandra Sue “Sandi” (White) Finkenbine, 81, passed away on June 26 in Shelbyville, Indiana. Sandi was born to Dale and Bertha “Toby” (Johnson) White on June 4, 1943, in Columbus, Ohio.
Sandi graduated from North High School, Columbus, Ohio. After graduation, she met Larry Finkenbine the love of her life… A stunning couple, they married in Columbus, Ohio in 1962 and were forever devoted to each other. The first of three sons, Brent, her favorite, was born in 1963. Ryan, her favorite, was born in 1965 followed by Darrin, her favorite, in 1969. They lived in Ohio and Iowa briefly before settling in central Indiana where Sandi worked at Earlywood Education Center, taught preschool and raised her boys.
Sandi will be remembered for her love of babies, amazing cooking, and crazy online orders. Her family will miss her caring nature, infectious giggle and occasional curse word followed by a mischievous grin. Sandi’s strength in the face of adversity was inspiring.
Sandi is preceded in death by her husband, Larry, grandson, Daniel and brother, Michael.
She leaves behind a family who will miss her dearly. Sister, Debbie (Jack) Spencer, sisters-in-law, Sandy (Phil) Harris and Rita Lambdin. Sons, Brent, Ryan and Darrin. Daughters-in-law, Jane, Suzi and Danyel. Grandchildren, Jess, Christina, Catelynn, Chloe, Keagan, Ben, Avery, Nate and Max. Great-grandchildren, Baylor, Briggs, Walker, Lynleigh and Magnolia.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, July 10, 11:00 am, with visitation one hour prior, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Home, 481 West Main Street, Greenwood, Indiana 46142.
