Mary Lasiter

GREENWOOD

Mary Edith Lasiter, 90, of Greenwood, passed away on July 9, 2024. She was born on May 17, 1934 in Spencer Co. IN to the late Homer Wheeler and Nora (Miles) Wheeler.

Mary was an avid reader, enjoyed mall walking, and going out to eat at her favorite restaurant, Four Seasons, where she and Don were regulars since they opened. She loved to travel with her husband, to include Sunday drives and especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

Mary lived and raised her family in the home that she and Donald built in 1958. In her young adult years, Mary worked at the Greenwood Water Company, and the Standard Grocery Store. She then became a stay at home mom and homemaker. Mary was a fan of the Colts and the Indy 500.

Mary is survived by her daughters, Patricia Besser, Glenda Johnston and Diane (Bill) Anderson; grandchildren, Laura (Howie) Daniels, Lisa Brown, Stacy (Kyle) Riddle, Patrick (Jennifer) Anderson; nine great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and sisters, Irene Krieg, and Priscilla Miles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Ray Lasiter; brothers, William Wheeler, John Wheeler, Jim Wheeler, Homer Lee Wheeler, and Nelson Wheeler; and sisters, Olive June Wanamaker, Dorothy Franchville, and Nancy Huebschman.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 15, 2024 from 9:30 AM until the time of service at 11:30 AM at G. H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center at The Gardens of Olive Branch, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN.

Mary will be laid to rest in Mount Pleasant Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart and Lung Association, American Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
