Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of July 15

Lane and ramp closures are planned on Interstate 465 this week as work continues on the I-69 Finish Line Project.

Westbound I-465 between Meridian Street and Mann Road and eastbound I-465 between I-70 and Mooresville Road will have single- and double-lane restrictions nightly this week between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. These restrictions will allow construction vehicles to enter and exit construction areas in the work zone, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation project update.

I-465 eastbound from Interstate 70 to Interstate 65 will be restricted to one lane from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday for barrier walls, pavement striping, and shifting future travel lanes.

The following entrance ramps also will be closed during this time:

  • I-70 eastbound ramp to I-465 southbound
  • State Road 67/Kentucky Avenue entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound
  • Mann Road entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound
  • State Road 37/Harding Street entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound
  • U.S. 31/East Street northbound entrance ramp to I-465 eastbound

This single-lane condition is expected to cause congestion on westbound I-465 throughout the weekend. Drivers should seek an alternate route to avoid travel delays, INDOT officials say.

The southbound U.S. 31/East Street ramp to I-465 westbound will continue to remain closed. Harding Street under I-465 will be reduced to one through lane and one left-turn lane through August, officials added.

In Johnson County, motorists should expect to see crews working along Interstate 69 between Fairview Road and State Road 144 to complete pavement striping and punch list items.

All road work is weather-dependent.
