C. Dale Waltz

TRAFALGAR

C. Dale Waltz, passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on July 17, 2024 at his home in Trafalgar with his family by his side.

Dale was born January 13, 1931 at Atterbury, to his parents, the late James Leslie and Lena (Coy) Waltz. He was a 1949 graduate of Trafalgar High School and went on to serve as a Corporal with the 370th Engineer Company of the United States Army during the Korean War. Dale was honorably discharged on May 21, 1953 after returning from Baumholder, Germany. He retired in 1991 from Design Printing in Indianapolis where he worked as a Bindery Man. Prior to that, Dale held the same position at Progressive Printing in Indianapolis and Rexham Printing in Edinburgh. After retirement he worked for G R Smith &Son Contracting in Trafalgar. Dale also worked on his family farm raising cattle, pigs, chickens, corn and soybeans.

He was an 84-year member of Samaria Christian Church, where he served as an Elder. Dale stayed active playing ping pong at the Nineveh Senior Center, meeting up with family and friends at various restaurants and attending Indian Creek Athletics. He enjoyed playing softball and baseball when he was younger. Dale loved visiting with family at the Waltz Shelter House.

Besides his parents, Dale was preceded in death on August 21, 2015 by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, E. Irene (Robinette) Waltz, whom he married on June 30, 1956 in Trafalgar. Dale was also preceded in death by an infant daughter, Karen Sue Waltz; and siblings, Lyle Waltz, Gladys Jean Pruitt, Vernon “Cigar” Waltz, Dean Waltz, Schearrel Waltz, Wendell Waltz &Dwight Waltz

Dale is survived by his children, Bev Waltz of Greenwood and Joe (Kim) Waltz of Trafalgar, grandchildren, Jenny (Josh) Matthews, Rachel (Billy) Wheat, Nick (Erin) Watkins, Ashley (Brad) Sisson, Amanda (Anthony) Hackett, Angie (Justin) Bowling &Jake (Whitnie) Waltz; great grandchildren, Becca Watkins, Taylor (Joe) Riley, Trinity Goforth, Tadeum Goforth, Braedyn (Haleigh) Matthews, Gavin Matthews, Jeremiah Carter, Emma Bowling, Lincoln Watkins, Maverick Sisson, Ryker Prairie, Lila Watkins, Hudson Waltz, Kennedy Bowling, Mason Hackett, Willow Waltz &Landon Hackett; great-great granddaughter, Dakota Watkins and one great-great grandson on the way; siblings, Rheta (Herb) Cook of Trafalgar and Herschell Waltz of Trafalgar; and several nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 22nd from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Samaria Christian Church, 4779 W. State Road 135 in Trafalgar. The Rev. Shan Rutherford will conduct a funeral service on Tuesday, July 23rd at 12:00 p.m. at the church with one hour of visitation prior. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood with military rites presented by the United States Army and the Greenwood Honor Guard. Funeral services have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation &Personalization Center in Morgantown.
